MAILBOX COMMENT
- MAILBOX SHORT NOTE
The customer reported that their mailbox was struck by a Waste Management truck.
Joe visited the customer’s location to investigate the complaint and inspect the mailbox. Joe observed that the mailbox was damaged and contacted the customer, who stated that when she placed the trash cart earlier, the mailbox was intact. However, when she returned later to retrieve the cart, she noticed the mailbox was damaged and therefore suspected a Waste Management vehicle was responsible.
Upon inspection, Joe found no green or yellow paint marks that would indicate the mailbox had been struck by a Waste Management truck.
Joe informed Waste Management Operations Manager Ricardo of the incident and also notified Marcelo Menejias from the Waste Management cleanup crew.
- Joe received an email from customer service stating that Lisa Brooks reported that one of the WM garbage trucks had struck their mailbox at 930 12th St NE.
Joe arrived at the location and observed that the mailbox was damaged. Joe spoke with Lisa Brooks, who stated that while she came back to retrieve the cart she noticed the mailbox was hit
Upon inspection, Joe found no green or yellow paint marks that would indicate the mailbox had been struck by a Waste Management truck.
Joe called Waste Management Operations Manager Ricardo Goycochea to inform him about the incident and also notified Marcelo Menejias, part of Waste Management’s cleanup crew.

- MAILBOX DAMAGE 1
Joe received an email from Waste Management reporting that truck #312532 had struck a mailbox at 2023 4th Ave NE on April 23, 2025
Joe arrived at the location, and observed that the mailbox was damaged. After a careful inspection, Joe noted that the mailbox had been slightly shifted to the right.
Joe immediately contacted Operations Manager Ricardo Goycochea to report the incident, and also notified Waste Management’s Claims and Compliance Officer, Marcelo Menejias. Marcelo responded that he would be arriving later to assess the situation.
Afterward, Joe spoke directly with the customer, Natalie Velazquez. Natalie acknowledged the incident and authorized Waste Management to proceed with the repair.
